Right now you are kind of like this, and about the size of a black bean:

You have a tiny little beating heart, but mostly, you're not especially differentiated. Audrey's tired all the time, and keeps taking the pee test, and the stripe gets darker and darker.
Mostly I think you'll make it. I have tiny fears of miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy, which would be sad, but mostly I think you'll make it.
I've already started keeping my eyes open on freecycle for very nice things which only rarely come around, like a good cradle, but mostly we're putting off gathering stuff for another few months.
But I'm cleaning and reorganizing my room to share with you, and generally getting the "to do someday" list compressed into a "to do before January" list.
You'll be here, if you're on time, in early March.
I am still happy. Casey and Audrey and I are your parents, and we're still happy to be doing this together, and are looking forward to seeing you. Casey is getting sillier and more dad-like every day, it almost makes me cry to see sometimes.
We've decided not to try to find out whether you're a girl or a boy or what, and if you're a boy, you get to keep all of your penis -- yay!

Date: 2010-08-20 04:01 pm (UTC)It just doesn't matter that much either way, anymore - we find out now, or we find out in March, and the kid will turn out how it turns out either way, both in March, and as it continues to grow.
Also: We're mostly settled for a girl's name, less so for a boy, and are going to go for a gendered name, so if we know, that's less fuss about which name to choose.
