Sue makes chicken teriyaki and a damned fine noodle kugel, and will be happy to provide either or both of those on short notice (i.e. when space opens in your fridge, or for a hot dinner). Anything else is risky but possible.
The reality of child-raising does set in when the child is out of the womb. Fortunately, it always seems (at least to me) that just when the reality gets to be too damned real, the kid does something so cute/sweet/loving that it makes you forget everything else until the urge to chuck him out the car window passes. [Caveat: not guaranteed during teenage years]
